For sale only is my Dean Jeff Berlin Standard. This bass was introduced in 2000.

    Here's the scoop:

This bass provides effortless playability of any of the Dean bass series to date. The three piece alder body coupled with a maple neck and thick ebony fingerboard provide warm sweet tones that match Jeff's strict standards.

Twin pickups from Bartolini are utilized being the pickups that Jeff has personally designed and selected for his instrument. A gold plated Badass bridge and gold schallers complete this instrument and whether you are looking for warm jazz tones or punchy rock tones you will find your sound in the Berlin Signature bass.

"It's like playing in melted butter on a teflon surface in zero gravity. And with killer tone," exclaims Jeff!

The body is very good other than the chips shown in the images. The neck is awesome. What a feel. The bridge and control knobs shows slight signs of tarnish.

This is one heck of a bass for the money.

I'm asking $575 shipped UPS ground in the lower 48. Will ship in an inexpensive gig bag and will be securely packed up in a normal bass shipping box.

Don't hesitate to hit me up with any questions.

    Thanks,

    Dave

Great basses. Do not confuse with all the later JB models that Dean has put out. This is the original real deal.

If I play with this, will I become unable to get along with others, strongly opinionated about everything without the ability to compromise, and throw my metronome out the window?

That's something people have wondered about for some time. Also, having to get rid of your electronic tuner and swear off TAB. And you may have to hang out with professional wrestlers.

But the upside is, you'll be able to sight read instantly and play inventive chordal stuff all day long with just four strings.

But seriously, these are terrific basses. Very well made. It's not JB's fault that after bringing this model out, the company flooded the planet with inexpensive entry level basses and clouded the quality perception of these Czech made basses.

Four years ago or so, retailers were selling used Berlin Standards for significantly more than what this one is going for. This here is a good value, no question.
