Deccabird - something borrowed, something blue?

A few more detail shots -

Same wiring as my '65 Teisco Del Rey - but with tone pot wired as most basses; full clockwise=treble/full counter clockwise=bass.

Have had a chance to play the Deccabird through my '76 Ampeg B-15N with a late 60's JBL speaker and it sounds really big. You could play pretty much any bass through that amp and it would sound good - but my ears are attuned to it so I can hear the subtle differences between basses. As the ingredients by now are tried-and-true (same as my Teiscobirds) it's hard to miss delivering the goods. The T-bird neck is very familiar so when you put that neck together with those ingredients - the only real difference is the shape/look of the body. It's got what it takes sonically, plays nicely and looks cool so I'd say it's another successful build. Need to field-test it at a rehearsal or jam session to put it through its ensamble paces, but I think it will most definitely hold its own.

Wow. Just wow. I think I’m in love. That is the coolest bass I’ve seen in a long, long time. Absolutely awesome rework/rescue.

Edit: Just checked out your website. BIG fan of the basses you’ve built! You’ve got a great eye for vintage/retro coolness.
