I took the Skil saw to my old Sunn 2x15 in 1980. They still sounded awesome individually and were a lot easier to lug around, and now I wish that I still had it as a 2x15 but there are a lot of good options now.
Ha! yes. In 1971 I took a circular saw to a std spec built JBL D140F loaded 2x15 cab and used the resulting 2 1x15 "halves" for many years. Worked out fine at the time ... although probably mostly through luck.
again, that's not what I am going to do with the LDS cab I mentioned in the initial post.
