Defretting Help

I'm interested in defretting my first bass. It a Laguna LB224. I know I should use a radius sander but I know nothing about them and I also cant find out how curved the fretboard is. So I figured I should consult the infinite wisdom of the TalkBass boards to point me in the right direction.

Radius sander? I thought that the best method is to heat the frets with a soldering iron to take them out. Then filling the spaces with epoxy and a fine sanding paper by hand.
