Was the answer given by mercedes ppl when given the choice between sending an aiplane to disolve the clouds creating heilstorms or building a protective structure to cover the cars that were awaiting for purchase that could be damaged by said storms.

However, even if das Mädchen is neuter, the logical gender will take precedence if the noun is syntactically referenced. So "the girl and her dog" would in fact be "das Mädchen und ihr Hund", not "...sein Hund", as one might expect.

Correct, and very confusing. But in the OP's syntax, it is neuter.

I always hated conjugating things in foreign languages that I cannot even do in my own language.
