Wrong. Madchen is not feminine because of the -chen ending, making it a grammatical neuter. Always confused the poo out of me in my first years taking German.

BTW, on a mac the ß is alt+s

Correct, and very confusing. But in the OP's syntax, it is neuter.

I always hated conjugating things in foreign languages that I cannot even do in my own language.
