It's been a long while but I remember seeing a small device that goes between your amp and cabinet that allowed you to change ohms. Has anyone else seen these?

Device that changes Ohms into cabinet

The only device that actually works is an autoformer, and they are not small. Peavey used to sell one, I don't know if they still do.

They don't change the impedance of your cab, but they allow you to connect cabs with mis-matched impedance levels.

You could put a high power resistor in series or parallel, but you would be disipating (wasting) a portion of your amp's power through it. If your cab has several drivers you could try re-wiring, but the options are limited.
