As long as I'm playing, I've never had my own amp (just small practice amp, 10w), and live for past 1 and half years I used only DI box, with huge success.
I don't use any eq, just direct into mix.
I also use ear plugs to keep my ears safe and I hear bass better with them.
I have Markbass SuperBooster which I use only as DI box. It has VLE and VPF filters which I never use, and it has boost up to 16-20db (not sure), which I also don't use. The problem is that it requires 12v to run it.
I'm planing to get just Markbass Pro DI box, which is just a plain simple DI box, it's passive, so no power is needed for it.
Did anyone have chance to get them both and compare them? I like my sound from my fingers and pickups, with a little reverb so it isn't so dry in the mix. Markbass SuperBooster was huge success for this. So this is great until I get better gear. In my country, we don't have much good DI boxes, and I think this two are the best, just need opinion on Markbass Pro DI box.
