Double Bass DI box techical help

I looking for a good DI to send a clear and optimal signal to mixer. In a DI like Radial JDI, J48, Countryman Type 85 the input impedance is affected to the sound of the XLR output or just affected on the thru-put? So a good passive DI without impedance buffer will works for me, If I Don't need to alter the sound of my current gear? Some DI, equipped with variable impedance control like Radial JDV Mk3 Super DI, Summit Audio TD-100 but they cost a lot more.

I'm not sure if I understand your question here. If you want to go directly from a typical piezo pickup, a passive direct box won't work very well, since the input impedance of any passive box will be much too low to use with the pickup. You will need to use an active direct box with a buffered input, such as the Countryman Type 85, which has a 10 meg ohm input impedance. If you want to send the signal from an amp to a mixer, any good passive direct box should work fine. I'd recommend anything that uses a Jensen transformer, which are of the highest quality.

I only know radial passive DI boxes use Jensen transformer, but as far as I know active radials not. I'm not really like to use my amp's 1/4 output, because unfortunately it not works perfectly. Did you try Countryman Type 85? What do you think? I know many URB players searching for very high input impedance gears, but when I tired few preamps with 10Mohm inputs, somehow I felt I lost the details and the dynamic of my playing, but I like many 1Mohm units.

I just picked up a BBE DI-1000. It is a switchable active/passive DI with a Jensen transformer. In active mode it has a 1M ohm input impedance. Very clear sounding unit. I am quite happy with mine.

I played a couple gigs using fdecks preamp into a cheap passive DI.

Sounded fine. Total gear cost probably was $75.

fdeck is not available in my country. No reason for me to buy cheap passive DI, because always there some cheap DI boxes on the stage where I usually play. That BBE sounds good!

I have the cheapest Radial passive DI, which is very solidly made and provides clean accurate sound. The difference in spec with the more expensive Jensen unit was not significant.
If you're not already using a buffering preamp, I suggest you buy or make something like fDecks; then the DI's impedance is not an issue.

All the Radial DI boxes are very good quality. Now I testing the Bassbone, which could be very practical for me, because I'm doubling sometimes. The only cons, the input inpedance is 470Kohm, but sounds good, and very uncolored.
