Difference between Aria SB R60 and Aria SB R80

This also extends to the SB Elite I and SB Elite II, but what are the differences besides the additional pickup? They are apparently the same model, but is having the additional pickup going to alter the sound much? Would it be better or worse with two pickups?

They sound quite different to me. The single pickup models have more bite, IMO. The dual pickups sound smoother. Both have some Jazz Bass type “honk”. After having both I prefer the sound of the single pickup but prefer the dual pickup for playability. The single pickup sits right were I pluck. Sorry if that doesn’t help. Lol.

Necroposting here, but have been doing some research online as I just picked up an ‘83 SB and I believe the only difference is chrome bridge and tuners on the R60/80 and brass/gold on the Elites… thanks
