    Hello friends,
I have an Ibanez Gio GSR205 and I'm looking around for a second bass and I've been really interested in a Spector Legend 5 Classic. But none of my local stores have them whatsoever, could anyone possibly tell me the difference between the two?

Scale length would be first in my mind. I think the Ibby is 34 and the Spector 35.

It also has a maple body with a quilt maple veneer as opposed to the agathis the Gios are made of. It has EMG pickups and a Tonepump Jr. preamp. It has a three piece neck as opposed to a one piece neck (at least my gio had a one piece neck), these are significantly more stable. It's also a much more solid feeling and playing bass. Also, if i remember correctly, it has a rounder neck profile than the Gio but I don't rememeber for certain, as I've played maybe one or two for a short period over the past couple yearsAll and all, there's a reason the Spector costs a lot more

Thanks for the info! I've also heard that the Spector has more of a C shape neck as opposed to the Ibby. I'm trying to figure out if I should order it online or not, but there's also a return policy sooo.

All and all, they're a damn good bass for the price, and if there's a solid return policy, I don't see why you shouldn't go for it. I was considering one awhile back, but I managed to get an amazing deal on a brand new Ibanez ATK 205 that I couldn't pass up =P

Well the site itself is overseas in the UK, I just wanna be extra cautious. Oh nice! I actually have something like it. The ATK800, solid bass and pretty professional for the price

The overseas thing may be an issue with returns and stuff, have you tried american sites like Musician's Friend? From what I remember they have a a really nice return policy. Unless you ended up getting a better price from the U.K. site.

And kinda off topic,, but how do you like the ATK800? The added CAP J-pickup seems like it could add so much tone variety

Yeah, I've tried every single site there is. From Musicians friend to guitar center, ZZounds, Hello Music. Even emailed Spector about it and apparently it doesn't come in a 5, only a 4. Only like 2 UK sites, but I've read a couple reviews and they're legit.

Oh I love it! Although I don't really play it all that much, kinda just mess around with it since I won it in a contest by D'Addario. But it's pretty amazing, you can basically dial into any tone you need without even touching the EQ on your head
