Double Bass Difference in sound between TC Bam 200 and Warwick Gnome

Here is a diagram of the Bam to make it flat:
TC doesn't give a lot of informations about their products.

well, they're similarly voiced, AFAICT. not the same, but somewhat similar warm tone profile and EQ points.

if you want something different, consider Phil Jones, Markbass or something else. it's hard to make some recommendations as you didn't specify, what exactly you don't like in your BAM's EQ.

I find the sound a bit aggressive.
I know that a lot of DB players use it, and find the sound to approach a bit the Walter Wood.
But as I play a big Accoustic bass Takamine TB 10 on jazz, instead of a DB, that could be a bit different, and may be that the Gnome witch is more in the bass guitar world could sound differently.
This was my thought.
I am not interested in other heads, because the weight is really important for me and like the lightness of the Bam. I travel by bus or tube, living in a city.

They may sound similar, only one way to know for sure. You might want to look at the Trace Elliott Elf. Even smaller size and 200 watts but a warmer, more colored sound.

From what I've red, the Elf compress the sound, and I avoid compressors in jazz.
I don't think the Elf will give me what I'm searching. But thank's for the idea.
For the moment I use a small Headway EDM 1 preamp in front of the Bam,
That gives me a crystal sound. Not so bad, indeed :) and sometimes I put also a Bodyrez.
Reading you, guys, I'll stay with the Bam, the Warwick will not bring me something different.

Aggressive is not a word I would use in describing the BAM. It sounds pretty warm and smooth to me, although it seems to have just the slightest bit of tubelike distortion. In contrast, I find the MB Nano 300 to be a very clean sounding amp. It’s very small, but twice the size.

Thank's Greg for your input, but I'm not interested in the Nano.
AT 70 years old, coming back from Gigs after 1 o’clock, on my old 4 floors building, no lift,
every pound count.
The Nano weight 3.20 lbs, and around that I have my Acoustic Image Focus SA 600 W + light Headway EDM 1. Just a little bit heavier but not so much, in case I need more power.
I want to keep the light Bam and see how I can manage to find my sound.
But however thank’s to share with me your impressions.

Well, after having read completly the spec of the Nano and let the time for reflection, that could be a solution. Considering that my Focus SA is not my solution cause it's 4,4 pound, far from the Nano.
