Different vol pot value on p/j

Gday TBer.
I recently installed a SPB3 on an al cheapo china made ibanez. Found that the bridge vol pot giving me crackle sound and inconsistent volume. So,i went to a local music store and bought a replacement without checking the values.
Reaching home, popping of the cavity cover,to my horror, the value was different. Stock value is 500k for all 3 pots but i got 250k.
Question:
what will the sound if i rewired 250k to bridge pup?read somewhere that 250k pot will have lesser high freq which could be more suitable for a hot pup like SPB3.

Will it be better if rewired 250k as tone pot?

it's the opposite, hotter pickups benefit from the higher-value pot.

it'll work fine, but be a little darker than a 500k, is all.

Since the neck pupis a hot type, I thought of wiring the 500k to the bridge pup to bring up more high freq.

Pot values are largely a personal preference, some like darker 250k pots, some like brighter 500k pots. We can't tell you if you'll like it or not.

The difference is going to be subtle, however.

How about other issues like volume difference, phase?
