Difficulty with Prymaxe

If need to elaborate further:

1) I bought 3 pedals on 10/01/2018.
2) Receiving no shipment information, I contacted them myself on 12/01/2018.
3) They told me that they "ran" out of one pedal which they have already sold me and got the payment for. No e-mail was provided about this problem which they have already noticed.
4) They suggested to delete the previous payment and confirmed that I will receive the refund in 1-2 hours.
5) I made a second payment to them for 1 pedal which went instantly through. If there was any issue with any bank here or there, that payment would be stuck as well.
6) Not receiving the refund and asking for it many times, they have confirmed that they have not made the refund yet on 15/01/2018.
7) There was an SMS notice that the refund is made on 18/01/2018 but the refund never showed up on my bank account as of 24/01/2018.
8) Further requests to Prymaxe gave no results as they refused to colloborate or call their bank to see if anything was wrong on their side. They just said that they have no control on such matters.
9) If this is all my mistake, well, then, fine. I have already stated that I am buying from other international companies as well including the ones in USA and never had a single issue with even 1 company before.

IME payment to the merchant is always, and I mean always, speedy. Refunds always take a while. Even in US to US transactions. I think some have hit the nail on the head with the international bank stuff and why it’s stalled. I wouldn’t fret too much. But that still sucks!! That’s a lot of money and I know I’d be fretting a little.

However, that part about ordering and not hearing anything for 2 weeks and even still having to reach out to them to find out what the heck is going on is total bs. In this day and age and with a company like Prymaxe, they should be on top of their game along those lines, inventory, communication to the buyer within the same day or two, notifications, all that stuff. That stuff should’ve been addressed in a timely manner imo. THAT would drive up a wall.

Thanks bro, your support and understanding is very much appreciated.
The funny thing is that, I was very calm during all this hassle and was very polite even, suggesting ways to make their system better.
All I was getting was "Thank you for my patience"
So patience happened to end yesterday after 2 weeks and all this happened.
I had to warn them that I will take this case to the proper organizations and also to www.talkbass.com, which I did.
and voila! the refund I have received when sleeping.
Would I have received it if haven't done this, I will never know.
A lesson well learned in life...

what would I gain from such a post if there was no problem

What exactly do YOU gain from posting this? I and others have had acceptable experiences with this retailer. Some haven't. Stuff like this happens thousands of times everyday in the global retail industry. It's a hassle and you have to expend some energy to see it through. What makes your situation so special? Finally, stop buying from them although I bet they will likely refuse any future orders from you first. Some customers aren't worth the $10 they make off a sale.

Chin up, bro. It will get sorted out with some patience.

You can go up having your acceptable experiences with that retailer bro, and you can chin up as well. Nothing makes my situation so special apart from the ignorance of some people. They will not be able to refuse any orders from me, as I will not buy even for free any item from them. Let them deal with the customers that are worth 10$.

Prymaxe decided to hold my money after twice telling me by phone they were issuing a refund (this was almost two weeks AFTER they had received the pedal back) until I had to get Reverb involved and threaten a Paypal dispute. I was told several conflicting stories about the status of the pedal (one that my return had been processed and a refund was on its way, another that someone was “testing it now”, later that they were short handed and hadn’t had a chance to look at it...all of this well after they had received it) after it was in their hands by the same person, so was essentially lied to and ignored before having to turn to Reverb. Tons and tons of gear purchases and customer service experiences with private and non private sellers before and after, and Prymaxe was hands down the single worst one. I’ll never do business with them again.

Thank you for sharing your own experience @petrus61

Well, here is a sign that this has nothing to do with being an international customer, as @petrus61 is living in New York, USA. This has to do with good business practice, and the location of a customer has nothing to do with this if the company is willingly making international delivery.

If some people think that Prymaxe have the right to give people such hassles because their prices are affordable, then that's their own opinion which I will rightfully disagree. I would rather go to a slightly more expensive store not to live such hassle.

I have shopped from several musical stores through Reverb, and I was amazed how fast they delivered to such a distance. Everything went smooth, the payment, the shipment, the delivery, the product itself, top notch quality service also for an affordable price.

I think it's much better to learn from other people's mistakes and experiences rather than living them yourself.

I think your point has been made. Like most successful businesses there will be some people who have bad experiences and choose to take their money elsewhere. Now that you have your refund and have aired your grievance it’s probably the best time to move on.

FAQ
When will I get my refund?

Once your return is received by us, your refund will typically be processed within 10-15 business days. It typically takes a few business days for all credit card refunds to be processed and reflected on your statement. This means it will take a few extra days for your refund to show in your account after your return is processed. Please note: All actual shipping fees paid by Prymaxe will be deducted from your refund. This includes orders that qualified for free or subsidized shipping. Return shipping must be paid by the buyer. If you received a defective or incorrect item, please see the next question

Well, there is no return of any item here if you did read carefully, I am not returning any items to them, they have suggested to cancel the first payment because they have "ran" out of a pedal, cancelled the payment and the refund with all such hassle was returned after 14 days.

Noted, which is why I waited well after to even contact them about why my refund hadn’t been issued. Reverb agreed that their behavior was “totally unacceptable” and that I should have already been issued a refund. I read all the terms of service and policy before I purchase anything from anywhere, but thanks for sharing for those who didn’t know. I wasn’t even expecting a full refund and totally expected to be charged a restock fee, but that was somehow waived once they were contacted by Reverb. It took me three days of waiting and phone calls for a refund that finally was credited into my Paypal within minutes of Reverb going to bat for me. Prymaxe policies were obviously considered by Reverb and Reverb sided with me because someone at Prymaxe was either being disingenuous or just plain lazy.

Don't think for a second that you did something wrong, because you didn't. I've heard similar stories about the same shop, so...
I'm happy to read about people satisfied about their service, but just ONE story like this is enough for me to decide that I'll never buy anything from them.

I read the post. You ordered an item that wasn't in stock and for whatever reason you weren't notified. When notified there was a problem, a refund was issued and processed within 10-15 business days as per their policy. What did i miss?

I think you would be hard pressed to find any retailer that has a perfect customer rating.....

You missed that I had to learn this, them not having the pedal that they sold me and got the payment for, myself after 2 days when there was no information about shipment, by going on live chat to be told that they "ran" out of it :)

Also you missed that the refund that they confirmed to make on 12/01/2018, they later denied doing and only did on 15/01/2018 @cdwthunderfoot
