I have p-bass clone from 70s made in eastern germany. it sounds pretty well, but ive decided to change pickup. Friend of mine gave me dp127. Ive wired it up as he had it in his bass. And damn it is lacking highs. Can this be because the wiring is wrong? I have checked now how it should be. it should be: black connected with white, green to ground and red to +. I have wired it like: red connected with white, black to ground, green to +. Is this the problem why it is sounding so f*king dull or is it the pickup?
Comparing to my older pickup it has a lot more bass, but wayyyyyyyyyy less treble and middle In other words it has higher output but it sounds like playing with two year old strings with tone knob turned half way down.
