DiMarzio Model J idea..... would this work?

I have a set of model Js in my geddy jazz. What would happen if I raised the d and g poles, left the E and A in their default position and added bass eq from my amp? My guess is that the D and G would have more lows. The goal is to have more lows from the D and G while still maintaining overall string volume balance.

Dont get me wrong the bass sounds decent now. I am just wondering if this would add fatness to my D and G strings.

It would add more D&G but if they are not fat now that would not change the sound of the string. ANd the EQ would just boost that Added D&G more. If you are looking for fatter try flats on the D&G.

True dat!
I raised the A and D poles on my Js to match the fretboard radius and string height. I don't know that it gave me more lows on those strings, but it did give me more impact or punch or whatever you wanna call it. For me, it evened out the response across all four strings. If your bass sounds balanced now, you might throw it out of whack by messing with those poles but, like Mike said, try it and see.

I am asking because perhaps someone has tried this already and has found it to work or not. Plus I cant crank up my rig in my condo to hear any subtle changes in tone.
