I love DiMarzio pickups & TBH I wish they made soapbar style pickups. When I first saw these I thought that's what it was, especially when they mention fitting the radius.
If they were really designed to fit the radius they'd be asking you what your radius is when making the order, since not every neck has the same radius.
Also, if they were really meant to fit the radius both halves wouldn't be radiused symmetrically, they'd taper off at the center, where they meet.

I also wish DiMarzio would get someone to fix their crap drawings & the support section of their website.

Billy Sheehan is a bass hero of mine, even though I don’t try to practice his techniques or copy his sound. That said, by trial and error, I’ve found I really like the Dimarzio Model P, which this new Relentless should sound like. I also like the idea of a ramp-like shape. And, oddly enough, I searched for a chrome P pickup a day before Billy announced the release on Facebook.

I’ll be buying at least one of these.

nice look!

other than that, I don't think DiMarzio has reinvented the magnetic bass pickup in any way with this model...

as for the radius, I believe it is purely for optical reasons, because you can still adjust the height of the pickups to match the fingerboard radius like with any other P pickup

I think you missed just about everything that makes this pickup different. No other P pickup is radiused. They’re all flat topped. Eliminating the sharp edges and the screws’ interference is genius as well! And, no more of that THACK sound when a string hits a pole.

This design raises the bar and should be a wakeup call to other pickup manufacturers.

cool look, but if its all metal wouldn't it be one big magnet for the strings to make contact with, more than just separate poles..Some of us really dig-in while paying:cool:...Am sure you can adjust them lower, there are screw holes, just curious, would like to hear a demo

The black ones would combine well with the black cover that is over the DP121 G.
But DP146 P is nice enough.

@ HardNHeavy, not all metal is magnetic (only iron, nickel, kobalt, gadolinium or alloys of those), so copper, brass or bronze are often used for pickup covers because of that.
