Details

Hey guys! Got this gorgeous Dingwall here! I have tried and tried and tried, and I CANNOT do fanned frets. It slows my playing down so much, that it's insane. :( I wanted to do it, but I just can't. I've had 4 Dingwalls now and love them, but I can't hang. So I need to pass it on.

Here's what's going on.

body wood walnut top wood
arbutus burl neck wood 5 piece bubinga
wenge
pickups fd-3
pre-amp obp-1
weight 8lbs-8 oz

I would say it's a good mixture of dark and modern. Definitely not bright like my Combustion was. It can be very warm as well. The pre amp is not nearly as punchy as say an MTD or Stingray. Which is why I wanted it, for contrast you know? But I find I like my basses to be really punchy. haha

Thank you. I have a Combustion NG2 that I love the bounce and zing of and am contemplating a Canadian built Dingwall. I do generally like bright and modern so not sure this is the right flavor for me yet.

What are all the controls? I assume the 3 knobs are blend and bass and treble. What are the switches?

Yea volume, bass, treble and a think it's a mid freq selector. The switches are passive active and the one is a kill switch. Not sure why butt that's what it is! Lol

Gosh that is beautiful! I just picked up an AB1 or else I'd be all over this.

BTW, and for potential buyers, I found the fanned frets no trouble at all. As a matter of fact, they seemed to have sped up my playing--which probably isn't a good thing! Anyway, GLWTS.
