My favorite store got this recently through a trade. This is the first Dingwall four string I have ever played. I like it, but I noticed the fanned frets more on this than the fives I have played. When I was at Bass Central and I played that super sweet NG3, the salesman told me that slappers usually preferred the NG2. I think I the NG3 actually has better slap tones. What the NG2 has is super clear mids and wonderful finger tone. The bass would be great for someone who typically favors the bridge pickup a Jazz. This bass gives similar punch with much stronger bottom. I think it is worth picking for someone who likes Jazz or Fusion as well as the heavier music usually associated with Dingwalls.

Very cool bass and I like the nice, even tone. Good playing! Don't see many fanned fret 4 stringers. Coincidentally, I played a 4 string fanned fret Ibanez yesterday. I liked it!

Another member that I saw in person today told me that he has been checking out an Ibanez that is headless with fanned frets. I really love Dingwalls. I think the NG3 may be the ultimate fretted five.
