Dingwall Z3 Question

Was trying out a Z3 today and whenever I engaged the mid frequency selector switch, there is a loud pop, like when you put in the cable without muting the amp or lowering the volume while connected to the bass. Is this normal? Or should I lower the volume, engage the switch and then increase the volume again?

Am keen on the bass, but not sure whether this is normal. The Z3 has two other selector switches for series/parallel modes, but they work fine.

You can usually solder a couple of resistors across the lugs on the switch to reduce/eliminate pops when switching. I'd contact the guys at Dingwall to make sure though, or post this in the Dingwall Owners Club thread - the guys at Dingwall, including Sheldon himself, often pop in there to answer questions.

I know for sure you can do this with an Aguilar preamp, but I don't know for sure if that's what this bass has. Dingwall does use Aguilar, but they often use Glockenklang preamps, too.
