Disc Golf Anyone?

Who else loves disc golf?

I try to get out every day I'm not working and often try to sneak a round in after work if there's enough light.

I used to play at the free frizzbee course in Las Vegas when I lived there years ago. My nephew showed me the course he and his friends played in Grand Forks, ND, near the river. Fun stuff.

I like watching the serious guys play. They pack around little duffle bags loaded with specialty discs for different situations/throws.

Kinda like walkin' into a gig with a couple of double bags!

Same here. With the day job, wife and kid I had to choose between bass and DG. Bass won.

Goood fun -- all of the reward and frustration of regular golf but at a small fraction of the price.

Haha, I guess you could call me one of "the serious guys." I carry around one of those "little duffel bags" and what not.

I must say though, disc GAS is much easier on the wallet than bass GAS.

Dude! Thank you! We'd been hitting the rotary park course in Huntington, WV. We'd actually been wanting to find some new courses to play. That's an excellent resource.

There's a course nearby in Huntington Beach. I've only played it a couple times, but it was fun.

Former Disc Golf addict here! There are many courses around the St. Louis area and I have spent many a weekend on most of them.

At one point I was less than 10 minutes from one at work and would get in nine baskets during lunch.

Sadly, I haven't thrown in quite some time. I miss it and need to get back into it!

The course I played on a lot in college had 3 ponds and a couple of the fairways went all the way along a pond. Those ponds provided most of my discs. I would jump in and feel around with my feet and come out with several every time. I would call any that had phone numbers on them and keep the rest. Of course those ponds stole some of my discs as well...

They don't, that's why I need to restock

There's one hole that you have to cross a small cove. It's not that long of a throw, I make much longer ones on non-water holes. But the pressure to get over the water takes about 40 feet of your throw. There's at least 2 of my discs in that cove.

The Aerobie brand golf discs float and they're not bad throwers.

I was wondering if anyone had done a disc golf thread. i just got into it last year. Here in western MA there are tons of really clean free courses too. Hoping to get somewhat good at it this year.
