Double Bass Discover double bass walking course

I've checked it out! Geoff has devised a very thoughtful linear curriculum, taking you through the baby steps to more advanced constructs of walking bass. It gets you walking rather quickly! And, he's an extremely nice guy to boot. I'd consider looking into it for both the content and the goodwill— he is devoting so much time to helping the bass community!

I met Geoff this last summer at the ISB convention. Very nice guy, very dedicated to building his program. We don't always approach technique in the same way, but he's not at all dogmatic about his approach; he teaches what he believes and what works for him, but doesn't think his way is the only way. This is a good sign in any teacher, IMO.

I enrolled that course, although have not worked on all of the topics - I started private lessons in the meantime and I got exercises from teacher to work on.
It's good in a way, to show you the ways and build fundamentals. Of course, you must do a lot of work by yourself by practicing building lines and to "borrow" interesting concepts from more mature players, but this course gives a good foundation on the topic.

Hello,

why not create a Thread related to discover double bass in general ?
I've got the lesson related to his youtube video ( access to the material, mp3, musicsheet etc ) it's very helpful ( form me).
No regret for the money.

maybe another player are happy or not with the other lessons available.
A thread like this :
- ( about you first ) Beginner, intermediate, style..
- Lesson you've choose and why ?
- Opinion : pro / cons

What do you think ?

I think it would be a great resource for all. I would gladly post a review there when I get my hands on the course!

Cheers!
