Dissecting my Peavey Combo-300

So here's something that baffled a simple Google search:

Tonight's gig lands me at a venue that has giant powerful cabinets, but no head. All I have is a Peavey Combo-300, a beast of an amp but heavy as hell.

Usually I'd lug the band's smaller bass amp, which packs not much of a punch. But this time, one of my bassist buddies said, "Easy. Just disconnect the head from the cabinet of your Peavey, and you're good to go."

I've done just that, and plugged it into my baby monitor speaker - it's aliiiiiiive!

If it actually works tonight, I'm going to want to buy/build housing for it so it'll be more secure for transportation. Any suggestions about that would be awesome.

Rock on!
