Distortion on Katana 110

Anyone else has the Boss Katana 110 Bass and has some problems with distortion coming through the combo even with no effects? I searched and found one or two replies about this topic, but I think it is fair to create a thread about this. I suspect some playing with the gain/two volumes can minimize or solve this, anyone with a word to say about this? Thank you :)

I had the same issue when I tried to turn it up past 1/4 volume, the speaker would begin to fart.
I got a 400W Eminence Legend BP102 8 ohm speaker (USA Made) and replaced the 60W Malaysia made speaker. No more distortion. Deep bass all the way at high volume.

interesting!
And did the tonal qualities of the amp change for the better as well? Does it handle deeper bass frequencies better? Tighter? How des it interact with the tweeter? Super curious to learn more about this as I’m thinking of doing the same.

Tonal qualities improved across the board. They didn’t necessarily ‘change’ but the tones that this amp was putting out, it made butter smooth.
Talking about the tweeter, they do okay together. Nothing has changed for the better or worse. But the main speaker now being flawless, you can easily hear where the factory $20 Peavey tweeter (identical) falls short. At some point I am going to switch it out with the $50 Eminence BGH25-8
