Double Bass Dittersdorf, Urtext vs. the better-known version

A question to those more at home in the orchestral world than me:

Until very recently, I was only aware of the well-known version of the Dittersdorf concerto in E major. It was Rinat Ibragimevs Version on YouTube that pointed my nose in the direction of the Urtext Version published by Henle.



I’m sure lots of you have seen that video.
While he’s playing Viennese Tuning and quite a bit faster than f.ex. Streicher used to play it, a quick look into it made it seem at least worth trying the Urtext in the common concert or solo tunings.

And suddenly, the standard version even seems a little like “cutting corners to make it easy” to me.

As someone who comes from the jazz world, what is the classical bassist’s take on this? Which version do you prefer, practice, play, consider “more worthwhile”, and which version gets asked for more regularly in your world of applying for orchestral jobs? (Not that I ever would dare...)

And pardon me if this has been answered a ton of times before- I didn’t discover anything on this particular matter here.

I recently bought this edition, mostly for teaching. The parts left out in the old Schott edition are really awkward in standard fourths tuning, but not impossible. Its easy to see why those passages were left out. They are difficult and the material is episodic or unimportant, so the editor figured nobody would miss it. The way to really play this is in Viennese tuning.
