Double Bass DIY case?

Anybody ever do a DIY case? Something a little better than a bag, but not a heavy duty job like to ship a bass in.
What wood and techniques did you use?
I'm thinking of bonding rigid foam to 1/8 plywood. Lining the case with soft foam. And putting wheels on the case.
