DIY Combo

Interesting.
I was considering doing this myself.
Do you have the mods for the PC power supply?
I think the fan noise for the PC supply will be quite loud no?
Is it a tuned cabinet or just a box?

Best regards

Tee.

to answer better to your question about the power supply.

I could find the conection that bypasses the start button on the computer and use only the power button on the power supply. I had to go wire by wire...

Can you record practice at maybe 3 to 4 meters from the amp and drumkit? Are you gonna leave it standalone or line out to the PA? I really want to hear a raw sound file of this with a band in practice and no PA.
Subbed!

this friday there´ll be no drums unfortunatly, but when I get the chance I will.

by the way it sounds I believe it will have no problems with drums. But I´ll try to record something without PA! :)

Normaly depends on the gig, I use both PA when necessary and no PA when not necessary. This thing can get loud enough for maybe 100 - 125 people rooms without PA support.

As said before, I can´t wait to try it on reharsal and gigs to see how it goes.

As you could see in last pictures, in the rear wiew pictures you could see some white lines that were the back side of the carpet....Now it´s fixed. The grill of the power supply I painted black too.

The sad part is that I can´t take the amp to the rehearsal on friday as I´ll have to play the piano because our piano player won´t come :crying:

yesterday was the first try out in the real world. I played with electric guitar, voices and light percusion. A minimal setup.

I had to lower the volume because I was really loud. I liked the definition and roundness of the low notes. The harmonics were singing :)

It only weigh 12 kg so I could cary it along with the bass without problems.

For now I´m happy with the results but I know I have to wait for a better try out with drums...etc.

:bassist:

Finally, this Saturday had a great gig oportunity to test the amp.

I can say it went pretty good. I was about half the potential volume and was clear and deep. I was giging with a 40 people choir and maybe 30 piece orchestra with drums, electric guitar, acoustic guitarr....etc.

I´m very pleased with how it sounds and it assured the low end pretty good, with clarity and enough volume (it was at about half the volume it could go)

I even had compliments on the tone :)
