So today I put on a pair of noise-cancelling 'ear defenders' (http://www.diy.com/nav/fix/handtool...d-Q-Standard-Ear-Defenders-Red-Black-12389453) in my school workshop, and looked through the window to see a friend of mine listening to his music through his Beats by Dre headphones.
*Lightbulbs flashing*
I don't know that awful much about electronics or the constituents of headphones, but I think it would be an interesting and quite simple project to turn some workshop ear defenders into decent music headphones.
At the minute the plan is to get headphone speakers online somewhere, wire them to a 3.5mm jack lead and drill a small hole in the ear of the ear defenders for the jack to exit. Anything I'm missing? Anyone ever done this before?
--I'll get my own ear defenders. I promise not to steal from school--
