Do you believe you were put here for a reason?

I guess if I was put here for a reason it would be to lift people up when they are down. I actually quite like listening to peoples problems and trying to help them out.

Same here. Sometimes a select few really unload their problems on me. But I really don't mind 'cos I've done it to a few friends at times as well and think people should do it more often!

Ohter than that, my mother admitted once to us that-''None of ye were accidents, ye were erm... suprises''
:rollno:

I wasn't pressed for any answers. If you honestly don't understand why you haven't seen massive evolutionary change in highly developed species over an extremely short period of time, then there's many basic science books I can refer you to.

I was put here for a reason.

I was put here to spread the word of the Lord and spread His goodness throughout the lan ...

Just kidding. The condom broke.

Bravo, sir. :D

I'd like to think my presence has made a positive difference in some people's lives (I'm a therapist), but put here? Naw. Much like Dave, I don't buy into the rhetoric that someone put me anywhere for any reason.

i believe i was put here to make a difference.

what that difference is, i dont know, but it must be something to do with music.

people and bosses and preachers and pastors have all told me that i am something special. unique if you will, and i take it as a personal goal to fulfill those perceptions of my being..

personally, i try not to step on anyones toes, and i offer nice opinions, and refuse to remark when negativity crosses my mind.

i observe people by their actions, and not entirely on what they say. if their actions are degrading, or mean, then i dont hang with those people.

on that same token, i want to be the best that i can, every waking moment that i can.

like Bob Marley said. I choose to be a light in the darkness.

because the world is dark enough as it is....

come on, give your mom and daddy the benefit of the doubt that they actually wanted you :p

(there's no way i'm gonna say this as well i'd like to. i'll give it a try)

that's all well and good for most, but what if you know for a fact that your mommy and daddy didn't actually want you? like your dad bailing on you while your mom was still pregnant and never seeing him again? someone here already differentiated "reason" and "purpose." so the "reason" me and anyone else is here is because of our parents. but if that decision by your parents was an obviously regrettable decision for both of them, what purpose could you possibly have if you weren't "put here?"

this is a very personal thing for me, but i'd rather have more hope than oblivion has to offer.
