Do you have a nickname for your bass?

Hey guys,

Just wondering if I was the only one to name my basses. Here are their names.

My main bass the Ntb Peavey Cirrus BXP 5 (indonesian model) is named Mr. Brown.

My Ibanez ATK 305 (natural finish) is Ugly Betty... or Betty for short... I call her ugly cause of the headstock.

My modified Squier Classic Vibes 60's p bass w/ nordstrand Np4 pickups and La Bella Deep Talking flatwound strings is GENESIS.

What do you call your basses?

+1 about the ATK having an ugly headstock. Not the best move Ibanez have made..

I call my Epi T-bird "The Bloody Midget". Bloody because it's all hacked up. Midget because it's about the size and weight of one.
Haven't settled on a title for my modded squier jazz yet. I'm thinking something relating to pineapples.

Always. They are nice ladies, and should be named!
Matilda (my acoustic guitar), Flosshilde (my acoustic bass guitar--she a big girl, named after one of the Rhinemaidens in Das Reingold), and Jane (as in Jetson), my Jaguar--such 50's retro look.

I just recently started naming mine after playing for 11 years, took a long time to come up with good names. I've got Michelle (Dean Edge 1-J, my first bass), HellRaiser (Schecter Hellraiser-5, my bandmates called it that and it stuck), and Carmen (Carvin LB75WF)

I never name mine....I'm not sure why but I don't like to humanize them as such.

Well thats what I call em when I'm talking to my parents.

The normally don't stick around long enough to earn nicknames but my old Spector was named Blondie by it's previous owner and unless my Schack fretless finds it's way back into my hands it'll be known as the one that got away, lol.

My guitarist called my Gibson Les Paul bass "The Backbreaker", because it's so heavy.

My '92 MIM Fender P is the Adey Bass, because it was given to me by a guy with the surname Adey...I haven't named my other basses yet. Names will happen.

Meanwhile, Geddy, Chris, and Jaco are the names of my geni--oh, nevermind.

My Ibby BTB 475 is name Steve but it has to be said in a deep, sinister and over dramatic way.

I actually just did this the other night because me and my bro were just being weirdos (it's a nightly thing). My brother's guitar received the name "DiscoTone" because it has this crazy 70's sound to it. My MIM P-bass is "Moonfruit" because it has a rocket sticker and an Apple sticker on it. And my Squier P Special is "Brownie Points" because it's brown. We named my Jag bass too but I can't recall it at the moment.

Lol my basses have decent names....

My Squire Classic Vibe 50s Precision Bass is Jocelyn, mostly because my friend Jocelyn asked for it to be named that..lol

My Squire Vintage Modified Fretless Jazz Bass is Janice, and i have no idea why. Thats just what it looks like to me.

And last but certainly not least, my 70s Memphis Precision Bass in C# tuning is Donna because she reminds me of something from That 70s Show, therefore she is Donna lol.
