Watching a music performance (e.g. video or media) makes the music appear to sound better when you see the band performing it?
As opposed to old-school where you fire up the music, put your headphones on etc, and then lay back on the pillow visualizing?
or does watching and listening at the same time distract you from the subtle nuances of the music that you would concentrate on if you were listening only?
Does watching a live performance compensate for the fact that often they don't sound as good as the record version?
Do you get more out of listening in isolation (like a dark room) without distraction so that you can focus on the actual music more?
