We haven't seen him with his shirt off, packing a machine gun and/or Bowie knife yet. He might end up being quite the action hero!

I actually really enjoyed "Listen"

I thought the first 5 minutes of it were genius. I like the new doc and clara. The Pink character is kinda meh and I don't really see what Clara sees in him. Lots of awkward drama in setting up the date, three blow ups during the date, two walk outs and she still goes to his house? Find someone without so many issues - he isn't that good looking. And now he's "part of her timeline"? I guess we are stuck with him.

The third one about Robin Hood was pretty awful so it was nice to see this get back on track.

That was, hands down, my favorite episode of all time! The emaciated Master scared the crap out of me when I saw it as a kid.

This last one was my least favorite episode this series actually cause i felt it lacked any sort of satisfying climax. Though i think this episode might be used to set up something later in the series maybe? I don't know. But the way it started with just the doctor theorizing about something (which seemed contrived) and then to have it end, oh its just you being scared of the dark? what!? I don't know. And like mellow mentioned, so what WAS supposed to be under the covers then? Also it's already been established what that thing that you catch out of the corner of your eye in a mirror (always) is, it's the daughter of the family of blood forever trapped in mirrors.

I hate to say it too but so far this season hasn't been up to those of the past in quality but its too few episodes in yet to make much of a definitive judgment. It might yet catch up. Though i did actually enjoy the Robin hood episode. But the series hasn't proven good enough yet to get away with a throwaway episode like this that early.

And i keep hoping against all odds that Missy is just the new master form. Mistress, Master.... I don't know. I grasp at straws but i just want the master back and a gender change wouldnt be that weird in Doctor Who.

I like this doctor. I fear the writing. They need new blood in there. I love the way he is cantankerous and doesn't seem to completely understand humans and I love the way he jabs at Clara, given the chance....I think the potential exists for great things.

on the other hand I don't care for his companion. She's pretty but...yawn. She's no Rose. of course Rose set a pretty high standard.

New writers for Dr Who!!!!!!

I think she'd make a fine companion if it weren't for all that "Impossible Girl" stuff from last season. She's fulfilled her mission, and now makes no sense as a companion. I'm dreading more time with Danny Pink. We already did the couple thing with Amy and Rory. It was great, and doesn't need to be done again...especially so soon!

I've never seen a single episode of Doctor Who. If I want to try it out, where should I start? Is it essential to go all the way back to the beginning?

For the newer version start with series one and the 9th Doctor-Christopher Eccleston, and then, if you want some of the history, add in older season episodes (some of the earlier episodes from the 60's are missing)

I thought the bank robbery episode was pretty good. It had elements of the show that I like to see; confusion; fear; alien/monster; compassion; most of all, it didn't have a bunch of earth-bound love story nonsense.

It was a lot of fun--which is what I'm looking for from the show.

I just watched, "the Talons of Weng Chiang," with Tom Baker, and while there are some very silly aspects of it, overall, it deserves the accolades. We should do a favorite companion poll, because even though it was short lived, Louise Jamerson as Leela was probably my favorite. She was drop dead sexy; and she was deadly, as well. She sure was a major change from Sarah Jane, who I liked, but was easily defeated most of the time.

Huh. It seems to be getting worse rather than better. The writing has fallen apart and the stories seem just totally uninspired and uninspiring. "Kill the Moon" is probably the worst episode in a long, long time (although, for me, the final few minutes redeemed it just a little bit).

I don't know why, but the franchise just seems to have lost its way at the moment. That's not for the first time, though. I'm hoping it can recover again.

I haven't watched Kill The Moon yet, but I've enjoyed this new series so far.
I don't think it's going downhill or ruining anything.
I find the stories entertaining, some good humour and some interesting developments.
