DOD FX25 stopped working

Hey guys,

I wanted to muck around with my DOD fX25 only to find out its not working! I use a Electro Harmonix Power supply for it and its worked in the past but tonight it didnt want to. I put a battery in it - nothing, changed its order in the chain - nothing, changed leads - nothing. Help?

No idea. Could have fried because of a voltage spike, or something inside came dislodged.

You could get it repaired. However if it is going to cost the same to replace it with the desirable one, I would buy the other, and maybe sell yours as broken. Or fix it, and enjoy it.

Hmm I just want to know whether its normal for DOD fx25s to fail after a while because I dont want to have to buy a replacement every 6 months. Does anyone else go through them like pairs of shoes?

Well I dont know whats wrong with it? Maybe it is just the switch and 9 volt jack that needs to be fixed? It was working fine but I wanted to play it last week and it wouldnt turn on. Easy fix?

opened up my one as it seized to work and found the problem, one of the parts on the circuit board is completely fried as well as some black score marks on it's surrounding components, not to good with circuitry so if someone could tell me what these parts are called so I can buy em and solder them that would be sweet, heres an image of the damage:

Unless you know what you're doing I wouldnt bother, Just sell it as broken, get $30 for it and buy a new one for $60-$90 + the $30 you have from the old one. Im the OP of this thread and thats what I did.
