DOD FX52 Vs Bass Big Muff Pi - what do you think?

Hello effects fanatics, ive been looking into buying a cheap yet good fuzz pedal, by cheap i mean under £60, and ive seen a lot of good things about the DOD FX 52

Also, i havent really been hearing a lot of good things about the Bass Big Muff Pi, so i was just curious to get some opinions, maybe some of you have owned or still own a FX 52 and could tell me what you think of it?
Also, any other suggestions for a good fuzz pedal for bass under £60??

the BBM will satisfy on bass WAY better than the fx52, and you'll be able to get A LOT more useable tones out of it.

Haven't tried the DOD, but the Bass Big Muff Pi is great...it takes some time to dial in the sound you want, or at least it did for me, but it's worth it

I bought the DOD FX52, it was only £30, so i thought i might as well try it out, if i dont like it just sell it on!

i'll play around with it for a while and make a bit of a sound demo on yoochoob and post it some time in the near future

Wow! So far im impressed! This thing ROARS! And it keeps sooo much tasty low end! I'll record some sound demo in the future and post a link, im very happy with this pedal! Definately worth saving £20 more that the BBM would have cost me

And in the picture above you can see that the Fuzz knob has a "boost" section, if you turn the knob to this, the sound is just awesome.

I am extremely happy with this pedal, its extremely versatile and works surprisingly well for bass

For both demos i used an 08 Standard Fender Jazz Bass MIM strung up with Rotosound Flatwounds (RS 77LD)

I had a rock/prog/metal bass player A/B my DOD FX52 and his Big Muff through an Eden 4x10 and I thought the FX52 sounded better. But they both sounded awesome and I've owned the FX52 for almost 20 years so I think my ears are biased. I pulled mine out recently and started playing around with it. Definitely light years better than the Boss Bass Overdrive pedal I used to own.

Weird that this thread got resurrected today. I sold a black Russian Big Muff Pi locally yesterday. I never really got a sound I was happy with on it, on either bass or guitar in a band setting; I figure if I need that sound, I've got passable emulation on my Zoom mfx units. When I got home, I pulled out my old DOD FX52 (first pedal I ever owned) and started messing with it.

I'd forgotten what a great little pedal it is. I got a much more useful and musical sound out of it than I was ever able to get from the real Muff.
