Does anyone else experience this?

Recently, my index and middle fingers have locked up when I play the bass for over an hour or so. They spasm, and curl almost completely shut and then slowly release. My hands have fairly poor circulation, I think, because they are always freezing cold. Is this a pretty common problem with a quick fix, or should I go see a doctor?

i'd say yah. in the mean time just put a hot pack on your hands when your not playing and stretch them a lot try and get the blood flowing

Sounds like what I have. I have poor circulation and all that fun stuff aswell. Just stretch your fingers alot, when they start to lock up, stop playing and apply heat.

Go see a doctor. Don't take a chance that you might be experiencing something more serious. Tendonitis and carpal tunnel syndrome are not risks worth taking.

Yeah, it happens when I don't stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water.

Nope, but I get the shakes from time to time for no reason.

point taken. also, munji, i get dehydrated pretty often, this might be a cause as well, i will try to drink more water.
