What a load. Anybody who says "All Valve Amplifier" when selling an amp that has only one preamp tube in it is lying. Period. I would think by now it would be against forum rules to keep posting links to these rip-off ads... To protect fellow TB'ers.

does anyone have any experience using a Bugera BVP5500

What a load. Anybody who says "All Valve Amplifier" when selling an amp that has only one preamp tube in it is lying. Period. I would think by now it would be against forum rules to keep posting links to these rip-off ads... To protect fellow TB'ers.
My guitarist's Bugera 333XL broke after one show. I wouldn't really risk getting one, but I haven't had any experience with one besides that.
i have never played one.. but i wouldnt touch it with someone else's money! a friend of mine (who doesnt have his head up his butt) bought a Bugera.. It blew up in a week... they gave him a replacement.. it had a melt down... he went back AGAIN ... they replaced it too (which is commendable).. but you guessed it.... 3rd verse, same as the first!!!... three lemons is very expensive lemonade.

Whats to know? If it sounds good and has a reasonable warranty go for it. I have some Behringer stuff and have no problems at all.
Whatever the activity there's always a Behringer type company offering a features based approach to marketing.
Usually these companies don't get much love from high end consumers, but the rest of us who actually have a limit to how much we get to spend on our hobbies are satisfied.
Alternatively take advice from people with 10 7 string basses .

I just can't understand what 4 12ax7 tubes are meant for: each of that tube has 2 separate gain stages, it's a stereo tube. usually you can have 2 of them with 2 separate gain stages, but man four of them, c'm on! I'd like to see a schematic, and I'll try one sooner or later.
If you do a little research you will find several all tube and hybrid heads that have more than two preamp tubes. (SVT3 & 4pro, Trace Elliot VR350, Mesa BB750, etc.)
here are my 2 cents on this amps.
I have a very good friend who is the manager in a major music store here in PR. He has informed me that he has stacks of Bugera amps that have died on customer hands on the first day! while I was talking to him at the store, a Cliend arrived with his Bugera "Stack" that made a buzzing sound and it just died!! the customer had it for 3 days!
On the other hans, I bought a Behringer BVT 4400 and it sounded Ok but nowere the 440 Watts it claimed!
This Amps are Ok for people with limited budget but you have to start saving for your next Amp when the time comes.

Good thing Behringer has a exchange policy during the warranty period - just bring it back and it's exchanged.
And since there are everywhere there's no months of waiting like other brands.
Now what I'd like to see, is somebody with a actual picture of the warehouse reminiscent of "Raiders of the Lost Ark" with all the broken Behringer gear in it.
Even just a sharp picture from a common camera phone from a back room of store crammed with broken Behringer/Bugera gear. No photoshop, a real picture.
You can't make crap and stay in business for 21 years. And show up on the set of the most expensive motion picture ever made.
And since there are everywhere there's no months of waiting like other brands.

i own it, great amp! and yes just to clear it up, it is a tube PREAMP, the "GUITAR" heads are all valve of course which is what they mean and it is lame of throwing that "all valve" thing to confuse someone with that borderline false advertising. nevertheless my BVP5500 has been awesome so far. i do have my review here.

this is only printed on the DVstores site (i may have read that elsewhere too before i think). the bugera site doesnt say its an ALL TUBE amp and does keep it completly in the dark about it being a hybrid but doesnt have it written like the above claim from DVstores. DVstores is more responsible for that and it should be removed and bugera should step up more to advertising it to be a hybrid but again it is a great amp that has served me well so far!

i have been interested in this amp for two reasons ... one price , two - all the preamp tubes . scared of the name , rep , but maybe that will change . seems like a svt3pro copy . and it may sound really good .
I don't know anything about the BVP5500 design, but at least the SVT schematic shows how one tube preamp works:

The main channel uses 8 triodes, three of which are devoted to the midrange control.
anyone who puts down bugera has never played one. just because it doesnt cost $900 doesnt mean its not good. iv played both the SVT PRO 3 and the bugera BVP-5500 and they sound the exact same. so talk what you'd like, but the fact of the matter is, this amp is the cheaper exact same amp.
