Does Fully Coated Strings (like Elixir) Cause Less Fret Wear?

I am not worrying about fret wear, I am asking the question out of general curiosity.

Playing with a lighter touch will probably be the most beneficial thing you can do to reduce fret wear, but, IME, fret wear is mostly a non-issue.

Fair enough. Generally speaking if it's softer/harder on your fingers it'll likely be softer/harder on your frets so in the case of the elixers they'll likely cause a little less wear than some of the others
