Does this bass exist?

Hey TB,

I've been thinning the heard severely as of late and i was curious as to weather or not a bass like this exists:

-an HH set up that can also switch to/with single coils.

Kinda looking for a bass that bass-ically performs the roll of an HH Stingray and a Jazz.

If there is no marketed one, is this a possible (and simple) mod?

Thanks!

It's the Peavey T-40!

The pickups are HB but roll off to single coil mode by use of the tone knobs. T-40's cover a lot of ground. I had a couple but never made a solid connection with them, guess I'm just a Jazz Bass guy at heart :smug:

Warwick $$ has a coil tap switch. Sure can do the 'ray and jazz plus more.

The Stingray HH has a switch that goes between:
1. Bridge PU
2. Coils furthest from each other
3. All 4 coils
4. Coils closest to each other
5. Neck PU
When I had one, I routinely used the setting that used the coils furthest from each other to approximate a Jazz tone. I never A/B'd it with a Jazz, but it was good enough for me.

The down side is that the single coils can't be solo'd.

Awesome!

I never vibed with Warwicks for some reason... But I haven't tried the $$, just messed around with a Tumb.

But, a T-40 and L2000 are super enticing! I also had no idea the Stingray HH had a switch... i need to look into that too (i had previously only played with the single-H Rays).

Thanks for the help!!
