Does this bass exist?

Does anyone know anything about an Epiphone Explorer bass That was not Korina? Gibson says mine isnt but im lookin for info as to for how long were these made and the materials used. Mine seems an awful lot different tonally from the Epi T-birds that I understand sound exactly like the korina explorers. I know this was made in 1998 in Korea, but cant even find a mention anywhere else. And dont tell me they were inferior instruments cause this puppy is every bit, if not more, as good as my Gibson bass was.

I have two of em. I had one refinished and can tell you its an alder body with a maple neck and has ceramic pickups in it. Imo while they are better than the k0rina basses the neck is way too thick to compare it to a Gibson.

I know for fact my bass does not have ceramic pickups and the neck feels as if the radius is larger and the overall thickness, if at all different, maybe a tiny bit smaller than the gibson I owned not too long ago. I would like to think my bass is alder, its tone seems to support that but ultimately i dont even know how to tell.
