Does This Rig Make Sense?

I'm trying to run a Mesa 400+ & 2x15 with an A/B splitter and a yet-to-be-determined tube head & 2x10 for a massive rig in stereo.

The clean signal would go from bass, to Tech 21, to A/B switch, from there to the 400+ running 2 Mesa Diesel 15s. The other channel of the A/B switch would be for dirt, going from a boss OD-3, Whammy, and Crybaby, then to a tube head running a Trace Elliot 2x10.

My guitar player has a Marshall JCM 2000 he doesn't use. I'm kind of worried about burning up his head though. Would a bass put more stress on a guitar head, even if the cab can keep up? Also, would I have to figure out the ohm-age of all three cabs involved, or just treat both amps as separate rigs joined by an A/B switch?

The head will not be damaged in any way by running a bass through it. The cab is the thing that you need to worry about, but it sounds like you've got that covered. Obviously, if the cabs are hooked up to different amps, their ohmage is not going to combine and hit both amps. The amps will only feel the cab they're feeding.

You're not going to hurt a thing because the guitar amp doesn't care what input signal it's being fed. The Marshall will no doubt sound somewhat different than what you're used to and probably won't have as much bottom end, but it will work fine.
Unless you already have all the gear, you'll want to check out a Radial Engineering X-Amp - everyone I know says they're the best for routing signal to two amps.

I've played with two rigs in stereo for many years. An A/B box works fine, and I've also used a bass stereo chorus to accomplish this. I've even gone from the A/B box into the stereo chorus into two amps, to use a three amp set-up. I just seem to be able to get an all over sound that I'm really satisfied with by doing this.
