Double Bass DOMENICO DRAGONETTI: THE NEW COMPLETE CONCERTO in D MAJOR !!

During the years I've tried to tell you, dear collegues, that the IMC Concerto in A major for db. was no written by Dragonetti but it was a later work by Edouard NANNY.

Finally, my friend Stefano Sciascia recorded a complete CONCERTO in A Major D400 written by Dragonetti: microfilms are in the British Museum, London. Go and look at them:-)!

Now another CONCERTO by DRAGONETTI in D Major and complete (Ubaldo Fioravanti recorded other original Concertos by Dragonetti but they weren't complent, only fragments) played by JOHN FEENEY and published Urtext by EDITIONS VIOLONE.

Listen to it: this is DRAGONETTI, not the IM:scowl:C's one

Ciao

Vito

I actually have these both concertos (No 3 and No 5). Right, they are in A major. And what has me curious is concerto in D that plays Feeney.
Vito, you wrote on facebook's page of Violone editions that in london library there are olny 2 concertos (No 3 and No 5). I heard that Dragonetti wrote about 8 concertos for double bass. Only 2 of them survived?

Thanks for your response Vito. I think the 3rd part of the concerto no 5 also sounds good. There is a melody from Dragonetti's Rondo. Do you know something new about he concerto in D?

At the moment I'm waiting for an answer from EditionsViolone to buy the D Concerto scores. Then probably John Feeny will recorded as "live" is D Concerto that you can hear and see on Facebook. Go to his profile!!

Greetings

Vito
