Double Ball Piccolo Strings

Hey Y'all,

I have come up empty on a search for Double Ball Piccolo Bass Strings. I have the string adapter for my Steinie, but the piccolo strings are so thin that they slip right through it when tension is applied.

Anyone have any thoughts?

A friend of mine used an A, D, G & then bought a couple of regular(single-end)singles(he's thinking .20 & .10 or so)from Ken Smith, laid it out & put ball ends from old strings on the ends. He tuned it BEADG, an octave up.

I was looking into that too, and building my own seems the best option.

.017w .020w .025w, however thin wounds have very thin cores and can't take much tension.
How about using guitar plains and somehow winding a metal 'sleeve' or wrap around it at the adaptor so the adaptor grips?
