Down to the Tech 21 DP3X or the Darkglass Mx7?

Asking myself the same question at the moment: DG x7 ultra or dp3x?
I like the Dug sound and always use an amp so not too bothered by the ampless option. Also fairly happy with my clean tone so not bothered by a clean preamp.
After a grindy d tuned tone similar to Alice in chains, kings x etc

Wandering if X ultra gets a near enough tone to the dp, plus is more versatile so thinking it might be the better option.

May end up buying both to test

I started with the X Ultra, sold it, got the dP3-X, loved it and then hated it lol and sold it. Now I have the simpler X7.

Really depend what you like. I will say, the X7 is a great "Tool", easy to use if you know how that work. The connectivity is what I like more too.

There is less noise from the X7, I found the comp better than on the dUg and the selectable crossover make it more versatile. You can get close to the dUg with an X7 but not 100%.

The clean tone on the dUg is the worse thing I have heard in my opinion. It is blurry and has a really weird tone. Like if you fit a super big/massive bass tone in a super small room, it feel like it is stuck.

Were you happy with the fewer EQ options of the x7 Vs the ultra?

It work fine. The XU is definitely more flexible.

I just got a Quad Cortex and the EQ on it is insane in comparison. I would say that if you want a simple crossover drive the X7 is the best because it has everything you need basically. The X doesn't have the compression in comparison
