Downsizing from rigs of doom...which path did you take?

I went from an Ampeg SVT 3 Pro and 410HLF down to a Peavey Firebass and a Carvin 212, and now I'm contemplating downsizing further to a PodGo and a powered FRFR.

I play death metal and most venues have FOH that take my bass signal direct anyway.

Went from an Aguilar AG500DC into an Aguilar 4x10 to a Schertler BF500 combo, and couldn't be happier. Schertler is transparent, the EQ section is simply top notch, only 24kg for a 500watt combo, and damn well made....

I’m a fan of modern modular rigs. For many gigs I just bring a single cab , but with two could cover most anything. Berg cabs , Forte amp and a tube preamp. Nothing is heavy , I just bring what I’ll need.
I don’t miss the fridge at all.

I’d say get the Stomp vs Pod Go but if you think it will make things easier, you’re right. And you can plug a guitar or synth or mic into it. And you can get the same sounds piped into your computer, your phone, FOH, into an amp. And it can be racked and controlled via midi so you don’t have to touch it or think about it if you’re doing the “on rails” metal show production method that’s very popular. I use a Stomp into a powered PA. Oh and you can pipe sounds into the Stomp via usb, so often I’ll use a connected iPad for samples and synths and crazy stuff. It’s great.
