Dr. Bass 2x12

Back in July, I ordered a 2x12 from Dr. Bass. Since he usually makes the cabinet after getting the order, you need to expect a month or so wait before receiving your cabinet. Unfortunately for me, the cabinet was mauled in delivery and arrived with a badly broken baffle board (the front board that the speakers are mounted to) as well as a crushed corner. I still tried it out and it sounded very good, but I sent it back. I finally received my replacement cabinet last week and used it this weekend. The cabinet is great and despite the wait, Marc at Dr. Bass was pleasant to deal with and I am really glad I bought this cabinet. Previously, for all mid to large gigs I would use my Avatar 1x15 and 2x10. But I can actually hear the 2x12 better on stage, so except for large outdoor gigs, I plan to always just use the 2x12. It's punchy, clear, and articulate and handles my 5 string with ease. I bought the RX212, which is the base version, and it is inexpensive (compared to most 2x12s), not too heavy and rather compact. I put mine up on a speaker stand and had no problems with loss of bass. It certainly makes my load in easier. Check them out at drbasscabs.com

Who do they use for delivery?

I seem to recall some other threads about Dr. Bass where people said whatever service they used busted up their cab, but I could just be going nuts. Anyone else have their Dr. Bass cab get smacked up during shipping?

I'm looking to get a lighter 2-12 or 3-10, but I don't necessarily want to spend Epifani money if I don't have to, so thanks for the review.

Marc told me he was having serious problems shipping via DHL. He said they actually "lost" an order of something like four cabinets in addition to the shipments that were getting damaged.

Thankfully mine shipped via FedEx and arrived in perfect condition.

DHL sucks
The one time I used them they 'misdelivered' the package. I finally got it back. The box was a bit beat up but luckily the monitor that was in it worked fine. I always see the DHL guy sleeping in his DHL van around the corner from my place.

Im sure Rob wont mind me saying but it cost £400 pound + postage. So far, seems well worth it, will give full report after the weekend when Ive got a few gigs done with it and charged it up fully though.
I think they only got one of these 2 x 12s in but are planning on getting some more. Hes still got some other cabs available though.
