DR Fat Beams or Hi Beams

Hello
Are the DR Fat Beams strings more suitable for finger playing because they are a little less flexible, I love my Hi Beams and the Rotos 66, are the Fat Beams a good compromise between the two?

Thanks

They should be, I think they're the stiffest string DR has except Lo Riders. I used Fatbeams for several years but moved to Daddario nickels because the Dadds were stiffer for my plucking hand. Been a while but I think the Rotos are stiffer than Fats.

There is no difference in stiffness between hi beams and fat beams. They are the same strings made of the same materials, just the fat beams are wound at a slower speed.
In my experience, FB are ever slightly stiffer than HB. The "slow winding" process results in extra tight windings, which makes them feel a bit tighter. That said, the actual difference is not night and day like between HB and Roto 66.

I bounce back and forth between hi beams and fat beams regularly. They feel a tiny bit different on my fingers when new, but i don't notice any change in tension.
Over all they feel so similar to me i sometimes can't tell which I'm playing. They are so similar that recently when swapping back and forth several times to listen for differences, I couldnt tell which was which. I got them mixed up and the small difference in sound wasn't enough to identify which was which. I couldn't feel any difference on slightly used sets at all, no matter how hard I tried.
