DR HiBeams without noises.

Hi,
I have been using the DR HiBeams, I like the sound of them and fret hand tension.

I use two piezos on my bass and I hear a lot of noises from my fret hand, so I thought swapping to nylon tapes.

Any of you have tried the Gold White Nylon Tapes? What do you think compared to the HiBeams in tension and sound? Do you recommend other strings?

"Gold White Nylon" means 80/20 brass, which would have a very different tonal character. The White Nylon is stainless steel, which is closer to Hi Beams.

The 50-105 set of La Bella tapewound would be lower in tension and looser in feel compared to Hi Beams 45-105.

60-115 would be similar tension than 45-105?
From what I hear on Youtube I prefer Gold than normal White Nylon... but I am not sure

I've used both Hi-Beams and White Nylons. Never on a piezo-equipped instrument, though.

Even in 60-115, WN are going to have slightly less tension than HB in 45-105. You may also run into grounding issues with them, just like with any other tapewounds. My own experiences have been mixed in that regard and I can't say that I have a valid explanation.

To my ears, HBs are a quintessential SS string. The only tapewounds that will get you anywhere close to that sound - IMO/IME - are White Nylons.

My $0.02 only...

At last the White Nylons 60-115 are on my bass. I would say they have slightly more tension than Hi Beams. The feel is very smooth. The sound is darker in the mids, but have some highs, and strangely some noises!!! at finger movements, left and right hand, even more than HBs. I wish it will disapear as time goes by.
As expected, I have ground issues. I have put a little wire from the jack ground to my hip :roflmao:

Another option would be roundwounds that produce less fingernoise, like TI Jazz Rounds. Seeing that your reference strings are HBs, the JRs will probably feel quite loose, but it won't be as big a deal as when you would be coming from most other roundwoumds out there.
