Dr. Riddim

My father, also known as Dr. Riddim, read these forums a lot chiming in when he could provide some information, usually when the topic discussed something he also had and could provide that first hand experience.

He played and preferred unlined fretless 5s, except for when the gig required something specific. His pride and joy was an early Lakland 55-94, fretless, five-string, and 34" scale, among others, but that one was the one. He always sounded fantastic, always in perfect tune and I'm told he played with only two fingers on his fretting hand towards the end, as time did its best to slow him down. He kept the groove going as long as he could. He's the reason why I picked up the bass as a kid.

He passed peacefully in his sleep in early September.
