Anybody ever try the Ghs pressurewound light gauge ? I wonder how they would feel in tension compared to a medium or medium/light round wound string?Mediums, especially! on the Roundcore Sunbeams.
I use the PW 40-96 set on one of my J's. They feel similar to hex-core roundwound of 40-100 in terms of stiffness. Definitely stiffer than the DR Sunbeams 40-100.Anybody ever try the Ghs pressurewound light gauge ? I wonder how they would feel in tension compared to a medium or medium/light round wound string?
Thanks, I may have to try them next. Can you get a low action with light gauge without fret clanking, etc. ?I use the PW 40-96 set on one of my J's. They feel similar to hex-core roundwound of 40-100 in terms of stiffness. Definitely stiffer than the DR Sunbeams 40-100.

^^^ This.Seems to me the clanking is more a consequence of technique and eq rather than the string.
