I have no idea how I should go around playing all of this, any suggestions on finger placement?

Edit: on a side note, am I the only one that finds playing to be much easier when standing? Sitting feels so stiff, no free movement of my upper arm.

Well, those tabs are correct. Eric Judy does all of his bass playing with a Pick, so if you really want to be authentic, do it with that. But I don't care so much about being Eric Judy as I do about playing a great song and still sounding like me.

I play it with two fingers, alternating Index and Middle. For the first parts its Middle-Index-Middle, the middle finger for every note on the D string, the Index for everything on the G. For the triplet at the end, I use my Index finger for the G (10th fret) on the A string, then drag my Middle finger across the last two strings.

My last pointer for the song is with the left hand. That is to make and hold the chords your playing. Don't press and release each note on the fret, make the first chord (14-12 chord, the 14 using your ring finger, the 12 using index) and hold it, then slide down to the next chord (12-11, using middle finger for the 12, index for the 11), and hold, then slide down again (10-9, middle for the 10, index for the 9). Then for the last chord, don't move your hand position, just move your fingers, fretting the 10 on A with your index, the 11 on G with your middle, and the 12 on D with your ring finger. All of this makes getting down the semi-akward rythem down easier.
