Hi.
It's Juhannus this weekend, and us Finns like to celebrate the most important of our holidays with some alcoholic beverages.
Here's a few of them.
"Tequila Sunrise"
1 litre of Tequila
Drink the tequila. Close Your eyes. Wake up in the morning.
"Finnish Champagne"
3/4 Finlandia vodka
Effervescent tablet (any brand)
Crush the tablet into the bottle. Voilà!
"Bumble-bee"
17 cl vodka
1 bumble bee
Slice the bumble bee and mix with vodka.
"Napolian"
6 cl moonshine
1 piece of ravioli (pasta)
Serve as a schnaps. Great appetizer, but a great dinner also in larger quantities. Yammy!
"Eye of a salmon"
1 glass of vodka
1 blueberry
Mix the ingredients. Try the taste.
"A hunters schnaps.
1 litre of moonshine
Moss
Rabbit droppings
Mix the ingredients. Filter out the droppings. A great way to start a moose hunt!
"Coffee surprise" (An original recipe from Turku)
1 lump of sugar
Coffee
Some Koskenkorva vodka
Drop the lump into a cup. Pour some coffee into the cup until the lump dissapears.
Pour vodka into the cup until the lump is visible again. Relax and enjoy.
"Kaffe med dopp" (A recipe from Parainen)
1 coin
Coffee
Moonshine
Drop the coin into a cup, pour some coffee as high as the edge of the coin. Top with moonshine.
"Ruissalo Sunburn"
Some Koskenkorva vodka
1 slice of HK Blue grilled ( a somewhat lo-quality, but tasty thick sausage.)
Top the glass with Koskenkorva, decorate with the sausage slice.
"Rose wine"
A rose with thorns
Moonshine
Smell the rose and drink some moonshine, because there's no-one you can give this lovely rose to.
Dinner table:
"An appetizer from Tampere"
1 postcard from Tampere
6 cl moonshine
Pour the moonshine to a schnaps glass. Drink. Look at the scenery in the postcard. Repeat as needed.
"Fruity punch"
Mix a raisin to a bucket of moonshine. The raisin is optional, if too fruity.
And the next day we are ready to do some heavy drinking
